Remembering the Year 2000!

Year 2000 - In February, we collected lots of books for the Swedish Hospital Pediatric library. Of course, a few members made sure that "Jolly Mon" and "Trouble Dolls" was included in the mix. We also went to Wolf Haven to help them with their landscape and gift shop renovation project.

March and April found us boarding the Kalakala, the old Puget Sound ferry boat, to help out with some cleaning.

In May and June we went to the Mercer Island Thrift Store to help with their end of the month clean out. They donated all leftover merchandise to the Children's Allergy Network for our Rummage sale.

In June and September, we also went down to man the phone at KCTS during their pledge drive. What PHUN!

July was our second annual Tin Cup Chalice Golf Tournament. Proceeds went to Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research and Wolf Haven. It was a great day of golf, good food, great music and even good weather capped off by a fabulous fireworks show. All for two wonderful causes!

We had our rummage sale to benefit the Children's Allergy Network in August. This event netted almost $1400 to a much-needed cause.

We capped off the year with our annual Toys for Tots drive. This year was a banner year for this wonderful cause, and it's nice to have this become the traditional year-end holiday event for the Parrot Heads of Puget Sound!
