Another Phantastic Year!

January

We had a Board of Directors meeting.  See last year’s calendar at www.phops.com for the meeting notes.  We did Thirsty Thursday at the North Shore Golf Course Social Club.

We also had another Caribbean Crazy night with Scott Bryan playing live at Sharkey’s in Mountlake Terrace.

 

February

We had another Caribbean Crazy night with Scott Bryan playing live at Sharkey’s in Mountlake Terrace.  We held the PHoPS Biz meeting and Election results at Factoria.  See last year’s calendar at www.phops.com for the meeting notes.

 

March

We did the Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital Dedication and Mardi Gras Party for the new Nintendo Fun Center that the club donated. The PHoPs club invaded Friday Harbor and had a wild tropical party up north! We also had Caribbean Crazy night with Scott Bryan playing live at Sharkey’s in Mountlake Terrace.  We held the Board of Directors’ Meeting at Denny’s in Canyon Park. The Second Wind Coffee Shop Grand Opening at the South Kitsap Mall. Club Member Wendy Peat opened her new coffee shop with Dave Calhoun and Joey Dean providing the entertainment.  Finally, we participated in the  First Annual Spring Brewfest at the Seattle Center.  PHoPs helps out the NW Brewers Association and raises money for the charity coffers.

 

April

Another Caribbean Crazy night with Scott Bryan playing live at Sharkey’s in Mountlake Terrace.  Some PHoPS members slipped away to the Pacific Sail Expo in Oakland CA. Eric Stone played a free cruisers party. Parrot Heads from Nevada came over for the trek.

Club Prez Les and his fiancée Jet married at Northshore Golf Course.

Club members Ron Verhei and Cindy Maksimik saw Buffett in Las Vegas (aka Lost Wages).  They are still talking about it!

 

May

Another Crazy Caribbean night. Scott Bryan at Sharkey’s in Mountlake Terrace.

 

June

PHoPS’ own Dave Calhoun left the open mic scene for a paid gig at the Bahama Breeze.  PHoPS members cashiered at The Annual Summer Brewfest at St. Edward’s State Park.

July

PHoPS Member Dave Calhoun was played several dates at the Bahama Breeze.  The Annual Tin Cup Chalice Charity Golf Tournament at the North Shore Golf Course.  PHoPS and North Shore co-sponsored this year’s golf tournament to raise money for the American Diabetes association.  A grand raffle was held and Florida’s own Jim Morris provided the live music.  PHoPS First Annual Laid Back Attack party.  The PHoPS First Annual club party held at the Kingston Yacht Club.  Everyone was entertained by Dave Calhoun, Scott Bryan, Eric Stone, Gary Seiler, and Mark Mulligan.  We sold this one out in a hurry and everyone had a great time!  Through our raffle, proceeds and Wendy Peat’s coffees sales, we raised money for the Dolphin Research Center in FL and the Kingston Share Net.

 

August

A Board of Director’s meeting at the South Center Denny’s. See last year’s calendar at www.phops.com for the meeting minutes.  PHoPS members went to the Latitudes and Attitudes Magazine’s NW Cruiser’s party at Coronet Bay, Deception Pass. Sailors and Yachties came from far and wide to party with the PHoPS gang. Scott Bryan opened up for Eric Stone. It was a blast!  The Luckey Luau at Kay and Fred Luckey’s. This club party was a fundraiser for “New Beginnings”, a shelter for women with children and expectant mothers. A huge box of baby items were donated. The PHoPS Business Meeting and Elections held at Torrero's in Factoria. See last year’s calendar at www.phops.com for the meeting minutes.  Finally, Dave Calhoun played several dates at the Bahama Breeze.

 

September

September brought the annual Dave Monahan's (im)famous Buffet In Bothell party.  Scott Bryan provided the live entertainment.  A blast as always!  Jimmy Buffett came to the White River Amphitheatre. PHoPS hosted a huge pre-concert party at Los Cabos restaurant and folks from the Montana and Idaho clubs joined in.  Still lookin’ for a lost shaker of salt!  PHoPS members rallied   Somehow the club rallied and worked the Oktoberfest in Fremont, making more money for the charity coffers.  Dave Calhoun played the Bahama Breeze for several dates.

October

October 7th- The Board of Directors meeting at the Southcenter Denny's.  See www.phops.com for the meeting minutes.  PHoPS members joined other volunteers and King County and Bothell staff to plant trees as part of Sammamish Re-Leaf 2003.  The 12h Annual Meeting of the Minds Parrot Head Convention in Key West. More than 20 PHoPs members went and they stories they could tell!!

November

November 15- Keet/Unbirthday Party and bowling event.  This is an annual event for the keets in our club, which includes a trophy for the best team.  There was also a gift exchange to celebrate everyone’s birthday.

 

December

Lucky’s Fruitcake Holiday Party and Toys for Tots Drive.  We gave away two huge boxes of toys to the local fire department.  Eric Stone came up from Florida and provided us with live entertainment.  Plenty of Christmas cheer was spread around!
